Transformers

WEG transformers have been manufactured in Brazil since 1981 and were introduced to the Southern Africa markets by ZEST in 2004. Initially, the focus was on on power transformers, but more recently, distribution, underground and dry type transformers have become available locally.

ZEST offers high voltage power transformers ranging from 5MVA to 200MVA, suitable for utilities and substation applications. Typical customers include industry, mining, municipalities, utilities, sugar and petrochemical producers.

VSDs

ZEST supplies WEG variable speed drives (VSDs), which are designed and built to meet the standards of an energy–hungry world. No installation using electric motors should be contemplated without the efficiency and control offered by the use of VSDs.

The WEG range includes:

• AC VSD Range
• Soft Starter Range

Switchgear

WEG switchgear products which are manufactured according to IEC 947 and which carry UL and CE certification are now available in South Africa.

The range includes contactors, thermal overload relays, electric motor circuit protection breakers, push buttons, indicating lights, field isolator stations and electric motor starters in either thermoplastic or metal enclosures.

Training & Services

To ensure that design and usage of VSDs is optimised for customers, ZEST operates a dedicated Drives Training Centre in Johannesburg. Additionally, on-site training programmes are offered in all major centres.
