Variable speed drives

WEG variable speed drives (VSDs) are designed and built to meet the standards of an energy–hungry world. No installation using electric motors should be contemplated without the efficiency and control offered by the use of VSDs.

LV Drives: 0 – 2850A

• Three Phase 380V – 0.37 to 1750 kW
• Three Phase 525V – 1.5 to 1850 kW
• Three Phase 690V – 75 to 2000 kW

MV Drives: 85A - 1178A

• Three Phase 2.3 kV – 400 to 3730 kW
• Three Phase 3.3 kV – 400 to 6000 kW
• Three phase 4.16 kV – 400 to 6000 kW

LV Soft Starters: 0A – 2424A

• Three Phase 380V – 1.1 to 750 kW
• Three Phase 380V – 1.1 to 1250 kW (with Inside Delta Connection)
• Three Phase 525V – 1.5 to 1000 kW
• Three Phase 525V – 1.5 to 1850 kW (with Inside Delta Connection)
• Three Phase 690V - 45 to 600 kW

To ensure that design and usage of VSDs is optimised for customers, a dedicated Drives Training Centre was opened in March 2005.

This centre and training programme – free of charge to ZEST customers – facilitates servicing the current and anticipated growth in the variable speed drives business.

The centre includes an electronics repair and testing facility, a secure high value storage area and a skills development and training centre. Training courses commence with an introduction to understanding variable speed drives, a second module covering operation, commissioning and fault finding and a third session dealing with repair work.
